Job Description: - This vacancy is only open to 1) current permanent City employees serving in the Computer Specialist (Software) civil service title or 2) on leave from the title or 3) permanent City employees in or on leave from a comparable title. Major Responsibilities: - Report to the Supervisor of Application Development (under the Deputy Director of Capital Integrated Data Solutions), develop new modules and applications and maintain and improve the Capital Division’s existing Windows-based software. - Work closely with the team to plan and decide what new features our project-tracking tools need, then write clear code to bring those ideas to life. - Build and improve our custom apps by writing scripts and programs in Visual Basic, ASP .NET, and Access so they run smoothly. - Test each new feature and change carefully to find any mistakes, fix them and make sure everything works as expected. - Write simple, step-by-step guides and reports that show how the software works and explain best ways to use it. - Create and run SQL procedures and views to move, clean, and organize project data so everyone has the right information. - Keep an eye on the applications after they go liv...
