Job Summary The Senior Advocate Counselor will work across four Manhattan Suspension sites focusing on supporting students who are attending a site due to issues in their home school. Students may be struggling academically, behaviorally, and/or exhibiting issues of trauma and loss. Working in partnership with school staff, the Senior Advocate Counselor provides supportive mentoring services, including attendance outreach, and case management with the goal of developing an individualized plan for each student to support students in reaching their academic and social emotional goals. Ongoing supervision, support and guidance will be provided by a senior-level Program Manager. The Senior Advocate Counselor position is a temporary position (April – June), 28 hours per week, and will be supervised by a Program Manager. If funding supports, position may be extended.
