Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Work Shift: Days (United States of America) Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training. Essential Job Functions Performs duties of a staff pharmacist as required Establishes and maintains clinical knowledge or practice that supports the needs of the ministry Instructs and precepts pharmacy students as assigned Develops and performs basic patient assessments as appropriate for scope of practice (i.e. assess for bruising or bleeding in patients on warfarin therapy) Acts as liaison between nursing services, pharmacy services, and medical staff in developing, implementing, and maintaining clinical pharmacy programs Successfully completes required rotational and longitudinal rotations – under guidance of residency preceptors, chooses elective rotations to comple...
