Job description
Under administrative direction of Program Director, or other designated supervisor, a recreational therapist on the Northeast Passage Clinical Team utilizes a strengths-based and collaborative approach to support to clients as they achieve their vision for health and quality of life across all domains. Clinical team therapists provide goal-based recreational therapy services in homes, communities, and school settings. Treatment sessions may include both individual 1:1 and group-based interventions. Treatment sessions may include transporting (in Northeast Passage vehicles) clients, family members, or other providers that are part of the client’s healthcare or educational team. Clinical team therapists follow the APIE (Assess, Plan, Implement, Evaluate) process: Assess individual/group needs & create individualized treatment plans. Plan and Implement safe and accessible recreation, sport and leisure-based interventions that support individual identity and functional skill development that support health outcomes.
