GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under general supervision, to perform a variety of skilled, specialized work involved in the City Cemetery. SUPERVISION EXERCISED: This position serves as a lead worker, overseeing daily tasks, supervising staff, and managing operations in the absence of the Crew Chief. IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Operate City vehicle and various types and sizes of equipment such as tractors, riding mowers, mulchers, edgers, ditchers and line trimmers in the maintenance of right-of-ways, boulevards, vacant lots, municipal grounds, ball fields, and city parks. Perform daily tasks needed to provide landscape services for the cemetery. Plan and execute funeral services, including site verification and setup, in the absence of the Crew Chief. Perform tasks inherent to cemetery operations such as grave leveling, stone leveling, stone repair, etc. Maintain equipment used daily through lubrication, sharpening, cleaning, and fluid checks. Oversee the cemetery crew in the Crew Chief's absence and enter work performed into the Work Order System (Asset Essentials). Facilitate minor plumbing repairs as needed.
