Advisor (Part-time) - Staff Pool - 260019S Description: SUMMARY: Address the special need of new students by providing college advising, scheduling of classes, aiding students through the enrollment processes and guiding applicants to any of the various support services (e.g., testing, career exploration, childcare services, financial aid, and counselors, etc.). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Provide advice to prospective and current students. 2. Guide students in the awareness and planning of their post-secondary school curriculum including the selection of the courses and programs of study. 3. Assist with registration, orientation, workshops, and seminars. 4. Assist students, parents, and community agencies with accurate up-to-date information, which will assist in making sound educational decisions. 5. Assist students in the acquisition, usage and evaluation of information including college guidelines, catalogs, and computer-based guidance systems. 6.
