Assistant Director of Student Engagement

Job Description Under direction from the Director of Student Engagement and Philanthropy, oversee a variety of Student and Young Alumni Engagement programs, including the Class System, to strategically engage and build a philanthropic pipeline and culture of engagement; work with students to plan, implement and evaluate projects, activities, events that promote Advancement student programming; develop and create marketing and publication content for Advancement student programs and serve as the primary advisor to the Class System in building class affinity and lifelong engagement with Virginia Tech. Required Qualifications: - Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree and experience equating to an advanced degree. - Demonstrated experience in advising undergraduate students in a university setting. - Demonstrated experience in event planning, fundraising, educational programming, and/or alumni activities; admissions and/or student recruitment activities. - Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with strong group presentation skills. - Demonstrated experience working closely and effectively with alumni, university administrators and faculty members.
