Position Summary MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: One (1) year of experience in the operation of trucks and other equipment used in construction. NOTE: Completion of a two-year training program for heavy equipment operators may be substituted for the above year of experience. Employees in this class operate and perform routine maintenance on less complex types of construction/maintenance equipment used in a municipal highway, landfill, or recycling department. Other equipment may be operated on a relief or training basis. Employees in this class are required to perform a variety of laboring and helper duties. Work is performed under direct supervision of a higher ranking employee. Supervision may be exercised over the work of Laborers assigned to the piece of equipment being operated. The incumbent does related work as required. Hiring Range: $21.84 - $22.95/ hourly Key Responsibilities: - Operates motor equipment such as: tractors (may have rotary mower attached), patrol truck, single axle dump truck, paint truck (stake body), patch roller, front end loaders, compactors, compressors, sewer cleaners, street sweepers, and other types of equipment classified as light duty used in the construc...
