TITLE: Preventative Maintenance Technician: JOB SUMMARY: The Preventive Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance, repair, inspection, and diagnostic services on a variety of systems throughout the campus. This role supports a safe and comfortable educational environment by maximizing system performance, reducing downtime, and extending equipment life. The technician works collaboratively with Facilities Management staff to support institutional goals and comply with regulatory and safety standards. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to: Supervisor, HVAC Operations: Supervises: No supervisory responsibilities: ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but not limited to the following: Conduct routine preventive maintenance on equipment, including: air handlers, rooftop units, chillers, boilers, pumps, VAV boxes, split systems, and related controls. Perform inspections to identify mechanical problems, electrical issues, and efficiency concerns, report findings. Adjust and calibrate HVAC controls, sensors, thermostats, and safety devices.
