Job Title Assistant Commandant Agency: Texas A&M University at Galveston Department: Commandant Staff Proposed Minimum Salary: Commensurate Job Location: Galveston, Texas Job Type: Staff Job Description: A Glimpse of the Job: The Assistant Commandant is jointly responsible for the cadet and midshipmen leadership development program, Corps conduct process, and maritime training. This position supports and assists the Commandant in all aspects of cadet life and Corps operations. The Assistant Commandant provides mentorship and guidance to the cadet leadership and individual cadets & midshipmen through daily participation in University and Academy programs. The Assistant Commandant reports to the Commandant (Maritime Academy). Essential Duties/Tasks: Corps Leadership Development - Assists the Commandant, Maritime Academy in coordinating with the office of Student Affairs and engages with cadets to develop leadership values, coordinate leadership initiatives and monitor educational and training requirements.
