Job description

Undergrad or Graduate student wage position for 20-30 hours per week. A position is available for a Stacks Assistant at Shannon and Clemons Libraries for the Summer of 2026. The opening is for 20-30 hours per week. The position will start upon hire and end at the beginning of the 2026 Fall semester. A Stacks Assistant plays a vital role in the library: returning library materials to the stacks so they are available to our patrons. In addition to this key activity, a Stacks Assistant will: - Move/shift sections of books when space is needed for new or returned books or as part of special projects. - Assist patrons with book searches. - Retrieve used books from the stacks. - Perform general stacks maintenance (e.g., light dusting, placing bookends). PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Full training is provided. Shift schedules are flexible and will be determined together with the Stacks Supervisor.
