Job description

Establishes and maintains a process for inmate activity at the jail facility, within the guidelines of federal and state laws, jail operations procedure manual, and county policies and procedures. Reports to the Captain or other designated person and works with inmates, co-workers, legal service representatives, and court staff to maintain security. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: - Coordinates inmate programs and projects to teach high-risk offenders practical skills and tools needed to be successful upon reentry into the community. - Works with colleges and universities, community, and faith-based organizations, while maintaining a fundamental commitment to the best interests of inmates. - Coordinates the logistics of course scheduling, student registration and submitting the required ACA compliance documentation. - Creates and maintains relationships with community organizations to provide inmates with opportunities for mentoring, resources, and community support. - Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
