Description The Department of Neurosurgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Research Associate positions in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of omics (transcriptomics and computational skills), immunologic assays, and animal experiments/creation of novel genetic models. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated track record of project completion and publications, as well as a high level of scientific rigor. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Preferred applicants must have 3-5 years of experience. Responsibilities may include working with the Principal Investigator on designing, carrying out, and analyzing complex experiments in the area of brain tumor biology as well as leading the implementation of experimental projects, design of the translational/basic science experiments to test hypotheses related to our research goals, using in vitro (cell culture/organoids)...
