Machine Operator II - Conditioning: 1st Shift (M-F, 6:00am-2:30pm) POSITION SUMMARY: Improves surface condition of rolled products by sanding and/or grinding. Sets up and operates shears and leveling machines used in the production of tantalum and niobium products. Assists as needed in the rolling mills ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES: - Sands or grinds rolled materials to remove surface imperfections and meet product specifications including but not limited to Class 1 requirements - Sets up and operates leveling equipment - Sets up and operates shears to ensure final product meets the required dimensional specs - Assists as needed in the handling of material at the rolling mills under the direction of the Rolling Mill Operator - Requires mechanical aptitude - Follows good safety practices, complies with PPE requirements and follows environmental policies - Must be able to understand specifications and use measuring instruments with assistance - Requires ability to recognize problems and seek assistance to resolve - Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS...
