Job description

The Nurse Practitioner examines and treats patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with other health care professionals following established standards and practices. Ensures proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Relies on education, experience, professional training and judgement to accomplish responsibilities. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Works under minimal supervision under the direction of the collaborating physician, as appropriate. May lead and direct the work of others within scope of practice. Job Function: Patient Care: - Patient assessment and teaching and learning needs are accurately documented, detailed nursing history is obtained, and patients at physiologic and or psychological risk are identified as evidenced by physical assessments of patients that identify priority care needs. - Diagnosis is appropriately formulated with pertinent therapeutic and diagnostic procedures ordered at all times as evidenced by necessary procedures that are performed to implement plan of care based on care standards and, or protocols. - Treatment plan is implemented with consults and referrals w...
