Job Description Reporting to a Preventative Maintenance Supervisor, incumbent will perform tasks in the building trades (carpentry, masonry and painting) in support of building maintenance as part of a regional Rounding Team on the Virginia Tech campus. Incumbent will work closely with Preventative Maintenance Technicians, Plumbers, and Electricians assisting with plumbing and electrical tasks as required. Required Qualifications: - Journeyman-level experience in the installation, repair and maintenance practices, equipment, and materials used in one or more skilled trades including carpentry, masonry, and painting. - Working knowledge of blueprints, technical drawings, sketches, specification records, and operating and maintenance manuals; record-keeping and inventory experience. - Candidate must be able to perform routine institutional painting tasks. - Ability to recognize and understand industry terminologies of multiple trades. - Ability to use a computer, keep accurate and complete records. - Ability to perform work with minimal margin of error and work independently with little or no supervision. - Ability to communicate effectively, work as an effective team member, and be...
