Staff Nurse - PET (0800-1630, M-F) - ( 26003077 ) Description The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Radiology is seeking a Staff Nurse to provide specialized care in a highly regulated environment in the Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Imaging Center. The Staff Nurse will assess patients' nursing care needs, evaluate effectiveness of care provided, integrate nursing theory and research into clinical practice, and provide leadership to members of the health care team to maintain patient care standards. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: · Applies nursing theory to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses to health and illness. · Assesses patient health care preferences and expectations. · Collaboratively coordinates the continuum of care across various care settings. · Provides pre, intra- and post-procedure nursing care (assessment, monitoring, intervention, and education) related to diagnostic and research procedures. · Assists in the collection of arterial and venous blood samples. · Prepares and completes daily patient workup for next day’s scheduled patients, including PET/CT and research patients. · Accurately completes, documents, and fi...
