Welder/Fabricator Tech II

Job description

Working independently and exercising good judgment and discretion the Welder Fabricator Tech II is responsible for performing fabrication shop support duties related to the manufacturing and fabrication shop. Performs setup, alignment, and tack weld of fabricated metal products prior to final "weld out" as well as completed weld operations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; preparation of bonding, trimming, and drilling of various types of composites and metals. Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding technique; such as retrieving parts/materials, trimming finished products and inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness. Interprets, selects, adapts, and applies appropriate assembly guidelines, procedures and practices. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - As Essential personnel you must be available in the event of school closings, delays, shutdowns, and any emergencies including clean up required because of severe weather incidents.
