The Mayor’s Office of Employment Development (MOED) coordinates and directs workforce development initiatives responsive to the needs of Baltimore City employees and job seekers in order to enhance and promote the local economy. Our vision is for every City resident to maximize his/her career potential, and all employers have the human resources to grow and prosper – a workforce system that works. Through our Youth Opportunity (YO) Centers, MOED offers internship programs providing young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 with valuable hands-on experience, educational & professional development, and mentorship opportunities in both public and private sector organizations throughout Baltimore City. The program’s goal is to help participants build career readiness skills, gain work experience, and prepare for long-term employment and/or continued education to ensure their success.
