DEPARTMENT: CHEMISTRY: POSITION TITLE: Lecturer Pool – Chemistry and Biochemistry POSITION DETAILS: The Department of Chemistry at Sacramento State is one of the larger departments in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. It serves approximately 400 undergraduate majors in BA and BS programs in Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Forensic Chemistry, and offers master’s degree programs in Chemistry and Biochemistry. The department includes 20 full-time faculty members, eight staff members, and approximately 20 part-time lecturers. Courses are offered across the chemistry curriculum, including general chemistry, chemistry for health science majors, chemistry for engineering majors, organic chemistry, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, and inorganic chemistry. A full list of courses is available in the university catalog. Duties of a part-time lecturer include instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours.
