Description Whittier College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Computer Science and Mathematics to begin in August 2025. The successful candidate will lead our Interdisciplinary Computer Science program, and will be expected to teach upper-level computer science courses such as: Operating Systems, Computer Organization and Architecture, Data Structures and Algorithms, Senior Seminar; and introductory requirements for the ICS major, such as Computer Science I & II, Discrete Mathematics, and Calculus, and occasionally some service courses below the calculus level. Candidates will be judged primarily on their teaching ability, their preparation/potential to teach upper-level computer science courses, and their dedication to close interaction and research with undergraduates. Student advising and committee work are also expected and valued. Interest in teaching interdisciplinary courses such as our campus wide First Year Seminar is also highly desirable.
