Job description

PRIMARY SUMMARY: Under general supervision the CNC Operator operates machines with computer controls that use single or multiple spindle lathe type screw machines equipped with automatic indexing and feeding mechanisms to machine metal bar stock. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential requirements represents the knowledge, skill, and/or ability. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Operates machines to produce production at expected levels. - Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations. - Measures dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures. - Removes and replaces inserts. - Listens to machines during operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and adjust machines to compensate for problems. - Stops machines to remove finished work pieces, or to change tooling. - Reads blueprint or job order for product specification s...
