Summary Baylor College of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, Rheumatology Service at Texas Children’s Hospital is seeking a highly motivated, responsible, and organized individual to join a translational research team focused on rare immune diseases. The Vogel Lab studies cytokine signals and the Research Technician III will help meet the needs of the research that serves the children and families of Houston and the surrounding areas, the Southeast Region of Texas, nationally, and internationally. Provides responsible technical assistance in support of research using both mouse models and patient-derived samples to gain a better understanding of the origins of autoimmunity, in which the immune system targets self. Completes experiments requiring a basic knowledge of techniques and practices related to immunology. After training, works under minimal supervision from a higher-level research staff member. A person with experience in tissue culture, quantitative PCR, ELISA and other protein analyses like immunoprecipitation and Western blot techniques is preferred.
