Classification Title: OPS Research Assistant Classification Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Job Description: The Movement Disorders Division within the Department of Neurology in the College of Medicine at the University of Florida is currently recruiting a research assistant to assist with dystonia related research protocols. This assistant would assist with transcranial magnetic stimulation based studies with the Human Motor Function and Brain Stimulation lab. About This Role: Dr. Aparna Wagle Shukla is working on elucidating the physiological mechanisms in movement disorders with specific focus on dystonia. The lab uses transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) technique for conduction of clinical research. The lab also uses repetitive TMS therapy (FDA approved therapy for depression) as a novel therapeutic application for treatment of dystonia and other involuntary movement disorders. The primary responsibility is to conduct TMS experiments under the direct supervision of Dr. Wagle Shukla.
