Software Engineer III, BigLake OSS

Job description

Minimum qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. - 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting. - 2 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure and designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems. - Experience with software development in Java. - Experience with data analytics and contributing to open source projects. Preferred qualifications: - Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields. - Experience using Java or Python in data analytics. - Experience with Operational Support Systems (OSS) Data Analytics ecosystem (e.g., Iceberg, Spark, Flink, Pandas, Arrow) and be a contributor (optimally a committer or panel management company (PMC) member) to open source projects in a similar space. - Experience with Apache Iceberg or Apache Spark. - Experience with software development in Python, Rust, or C++.
