Department CARDIOVASCULAR LAB - 456172: Worker Sub Type Regular Work Shift First Shift (United States of America) Pay Grade Job Description: The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for performing echocardiographic techniques/procedures which assist physicians in the diagnosis of medical conditions in patients. Responsibilities and Duties: Obtains the following diagnostic echocardiographic recordings or images following established procedures: Echocardiography utilizing echo contrast for improving difficult images in conjunction with other modalities. Cardiac ultrasound following established procedure. Stress echocardiography including stress monitoring, obtaining pre and post exercise images and processing of digital images for physician review. Explains procedure to patient and gives necessary instruction. Prepares patient for procedure including vital signs, attaching monitoring equipment and preparing diagnostic equipment as necessary. Reviews the patient record for test indication and obtains clinical information pertinent to the test. Reviews patient EMR and verifies correct order before initiating test.
