Manual Machinist 1st Shift Metals USA -- Gregor Technologies Division is seeking a Manual Machinist -- 1st shift in Torrington, CT. Metals USA is a solid, growth oriented aluminum/stainless steel distribution center servicing the defense, aerospace and fabrication industries. R esponsibilities: - Cut and shape the part using a combination of lathes, presses, grinders and cutting machines which are both manual and computer-controlled - O.D. and surface grinding on manual and CNC grinders. - Checks the tool's dimensions with precision measuring instruments like micrometers, gauges and calipers. - Must be self-motivated and willing to produce high-quality, value-added product. - Operates production equipment to produce products in accordance with production needs. - Sets up machine with the proper program, tools and material for specified part. - Produces assigned products in accordance with verbal and written instructions. - Checks part to ensure accuracy to print. - Notifies team leader immediately of any problems when running a part. - Fills out production paperwork, follows shop system data collection procedures and follows inspection procedures on a daily basis. - Performs schedu...
