Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible to safely and efficiently produce machined parts by means of programming, using Mastercam and/or Fusion, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. A Programmer/Operator’s core objective is to ensure CNC machines are properly utilized though optimizing programs and daily production runs using the approved design and engineering. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Plan machines by carefully studying work orders, drawings and other technical data. - Program CNC by entering the instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs. - Feed mechanism to be loaded by lifting stock into position. - Verify the settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to standards. - Specifications should be maintained by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogrammin...
