Sports Instructor - Jiu-Jitsu Department: Center Staff: Employment Type: Part Time: Location: Waltham YMCA: Reporting To: Cameron Gonnella: Compensation: $17.00 - $18.00 / hour Description: The YMCA of Greater Boston is searching for a Sports Instructor to lead a group of children and adults of all ages instructing sports classes. Classes are on weekday afternoons and weekend mornings. Candidate must possess excellent child/parent communication skills, expertise in a variety of sports and the ability to work independently. Key Responsibilities: Essential Functions: - Coaches sports programs using provided curriculum and curriculum of their own design emphasizing skill development, sportsmanship and the YMCA's core values of Caring, Honest, Respect and Responsibility. - Demonstrates designed skills and outcomes to foster learning and skill development. - Maintains group focus and attention to activities being run, has strong coaching presence able to positively redirect participants where needed. - Meets players where they are at in age and skill level.
