Status Full-Time Standard Hours per Week: 40 Job Posting Category: Laboratory Medicine: Job Posting Description: Position Summary: This Lab Processor is involved in the intake, labeling, and routing of various patient specimens within the laboratory. This position helps properly identify and prepare specimens for testing. This person will also perform computer entry and pre analytical processing of specimens entering the lab. Schedule : Monday - Friday from 1:30pm-10pm, including rotating weekends & holidays. Key Responsibilities: - Handles pre-analytical specimen processing including stamping in, verifying I.D., identifying tests, and evaluating specimen quality and appropriate test set up. - Enters and retrieves lab orders using computer systems. - Provides courteous and timely customer service to providers calling into the lab. - Performs, documents, and evaluates daily QC and follows procedure when QC is out of range. - Operates and maintains lab equipment such as centrifuges, refrigerators, and freezers. - Maintains workplace in a neat and orderly fashion.
