Job Overview Reporting to the Vice President for University Advancement, the Director of Government Relations (DGR) will create a comprehensive government relations strategy to strengthen the University’s position in this critical area. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the DGR will build upon recent government relations activity, with a key focus on elevating CSUSM’s profile at all levels. They will work closely with the University Advancement (UA) Marketing and Communication Director, the University’s President and senior leadership and serve as a member of the University’s Critical Issues Team. The DGR will partner with and serve in a supervisory role to the Director of Strategic Projects within the Office of the President with support on federal relations activity. The DGR is a high-profile position, working across the entire campus on nearly every major issue area.
