Engineer I - Design Trans/Civil

Job description

Basic Purpose Provides comprehensive civil/structural engineering design services for substation and/or transmission facilities, and to ensure that these facilities are constructed on schedule and within committed resource allocations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company. Performs related duties as assigned. For substation and transmission projects: - Provides civil engineering knowledge to develop plans for sitework including grading, off-site improvements, drainage facilities, fencing and block walls, and landscaping. In addition, completes calculations and prepares designs for substation steel structures, foundations, and control enclosures. - Provides civil engineering expertise to transmission line engineering analysis, route analysis and selection, calculations for line design (includes structure loading, foundation design and conductor sag), specifies materials and evaluates bid documents and technical submittals, and completes the construction package. - Assists in the acquisition of all necessary construc...
