QUALIFICATIONS: Technologists must be registered and in good standing with the ARDMS with credentialing in physics, vascular and abdominal preferred. Maintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE: Category I exposure to bloodborne pathogens, frequent exposure to chemical hazards and may encounter radiation hazards. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Under the indirect supervision of the Radiologist, performs the full range of diagnostic Ultrasound procedures as per the established Radiologist protocols. Assist physicians with invasive US biopsy procedures. - Performs and evaluates ultrasound images exams providing accurate documentation and images of procedure(s) results. Communicates pertinent information to the Radiologist regarding the procedure & findings. - Demonstrates competence in utilizing all imaging support equipment to include transducers, multi-format cameras, printers, RIS and PACS system. - Maintains inventory of all required procedure supplies. - Maintains exams room in an orderly and safe condition. - Comprehensively explains the ultrasound process and procedure to the patient and answers any questions the patient has regarding the procedure to allevia...
