Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science Part-Time Academic Instructor (CHEM 122) The Department of Chemistry invites applications for the position of Part-Time Academic Instructor to teach CHEM 122, Principles of Chemistry ll, (3 credits) during the winter term of the 2026-2027 academic year. This position is subject to final budgetary approval. A course description follows: CHEM 122 Principles of Chemistry II Topics covered in include a description of the solution state and intermolecular forces in solutions; rates of reaction, reaction mechanisms, equilibrium, acid-base reactions, electrolytes and voltaic cells, nuclear chemistry, and an overview of organic chemistry. Credit will be granted for only one of CHEM 122, CHEM 100, CHEM 102 or CHEM 120. Prerequisite: CHEM 121. The ideal candidate for the position should possess, at minimum, a Master’s degree in chemistry or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates who possess a Ph.D. in chemistry and to individuals who have strong teaching and communication skills and/or who have prior experience in university-level teaching.
