JOB SUMMARY: Medical Transcriptionist Lead under the direction of the Medical Transcription Supervisor transcribes pathology reports from digital dictation as well as provide support for department operations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Assists the Medical Transcription Supervisor in the overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Accessioning department. - Help to establish and execute long and short-term department goals. - Monitor and maintain established TAT. - Monitor and ensure departmental scheduling and coverage of personnel to include inside and outside locations. - Transcribe gross, microscopic, diagnostic, surgical pathology, autopsy, and cytology reports; type general correspondence for Pathologists. - Ensure that all employees are properly oriented and trained. - Communicate pertinent information/issues to supervisor, manager or other appropriate individual. - Serves as project leader in the development and implementation of training, QA programs and department protocols. - Perform all job responsibilities in alignment with the industry's best security practices and regulatory guidelines to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected health inform...
