About This Role Looking for an experienced Category Leader professional who will lead their assigned Category(s) in order to maximize value, reduce costs, and mitigate risks. Developing long-term Category strategies that align supplier capabilities with business goals. Job Description: Leads assigned Category(s) in order to maximize value, reduce costs, and mitigate risks. Leads execution of procurement tasks; including RFPs, negotiations, cost accountability, and program implementation. Works with cross-functional teams to qualify and approve suppliers to fulfill business needs. Takes action on the changes identified in price trends and manufacturing processes to ensure a successful category strategy and procurement process. Controls spend and builds a culture of long-term savings on procurement costs. Responds to critical supplier issues and problems. Builds and executes Request for Proposals (RFPs) in support of the overall Category strategy. Responsible for the negotiation and execution of desired payment terms and conditions with suppliers.
