About the team The Sustainable Solutions Group (SSG) serves as ING Wholesale Banking’s central sustainability engine. Our mission is to accelerate the flow of capital toward our clients’ sustainability transitions and the sectors they operate in. SSG acts as both the accelerator of sustainable finance and the centre of sustainability expertise within ING Wholesale Banking. We support clients across sectors and regions by combining deep sustainability and sector expertise with data‑driven insights, innovative financing solutions, and strategic client engagement. Our work is anchored in three strategic thematics: Within EMEA, SSG works closely with sector teams, front‑office coverage, risk, product and delivery teams to translate sustainability strategy into tangible client outcomes. - Financing the Transition – originating and structuring sustainable finance solutions that support long‑term value creation; - Steering the Portfolio on Terra – aligning ING’s lending portfolio with science‑based decarbonisation pathways; - Strategic Climate Client Engagement – embedding ESG into client dialogue and transition planning.
