Description The Associate Program Director (APD) plays a pivotal role in the leadership and day-to-day operations of the Family Medicine Residency Program. Working alongside the Program Director, Academic Chief Residents, and administrative team, this position blends clinical family medicine practice with educational leadership, resident recruitment, and program administration. The two Associate Program Directors support the Program Director in administering the residency program and serve as acting Program Director when needed. They maintain an active clinical family medicine practice and contribute to both outpatient and inpatient care. Their educational responsibilities include precepting residents weekly, participating in didactic teaching, overseeing the core curriculum, and liaising with teaching faculty. Administratively, APDs assist in maintaining accreditation, participate in key committees (Clinical Competency Committee, Program Evaluation Committee, monthly resident business meeting), attend regular administrative meetings, and contribute to residency quality initiatives such as policy development, evaluations, and curriculum planning.
