At NorthBay Health, the Pharmacy Resident is hired into a 12-month postgraduate training program. Reporting to the Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator, the Resident initially operates as a pharmacy intern under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist; upon obtaining licensure from the California State Board of Pharmacy, the Resident will transition into the full clinical and operational responsibilities of a Clinical Pharmacist. The successful resident will meet the requirements established by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), the accrediting body for pharmacy residency programs in the United States. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES: Perform clinical patient care (e.g. acquire patient medication history, manage medication therapy including ordering medications and laboratory tests under protocol, perform pharmacokinetic monitoring, optimize drug therapy for patients in various acute and ambulatory care areas, evaluate medication errors and adverse drug events, and document work in the electronic health record.)
