GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Health Information Specialist I is responsible for helping to ensure that personal health information is released in accordance with state and federal laws. The Health Information Specialist I coordinates with the patient care team to request records to assure continuity of care. The Health Information Specialist I organizes incoming health information, then distributes records appropriately to internal staff. The Health Information Specialist I aggregates vital information to provide a complete medical record and assist in meeting quality measures.
