Job Summary Inspect, service, repair and maintain diesel locomotives Primary Activities and Responsibilities: - Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) - Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in diesel engines, air brake equipment, running gear or locomotive components - Rivet, bolt, glue, braze or weld to fabricate, modify or design replacement parts for equipment - Fabricate, cut, shape, and perform finish operations using various types of materials - Perform periodic service on locomotives - Move locomotives - Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager Pay Rate: - Apprentice - 90% of journeyman rate - Full Journeyman Rate - $42.72/hour Training: You will attend paid training, which could be out of town. CSX will pay for travel and lodging as required by collective bargaining agreement.
