Job Summary The Cohen Lab at WHOI seeks a part-time Lab Helper (casual position, no benefits) to support lab management and operations for up to 20 hours per week. This position offers flexible hours and is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented individual interested in gaining hands-on laboratory experience. Job Description: Key Responsibilities: Communicate with vendors and assist with supply procurement Organize, label, and archive samples: Track and ensure timely sample analysis Maintain accurate records of laboratory analyses Update and manage the coral core archive Identify supply needs and place orders Monitor equipment and flag items needing maintenance or replacement Assist with fieldwork planning and logistics As appropriate, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to develop additional technical skills, including AI-assisted image analysis and basic programming.
