DEFINITION: Under direction, the Recreation Specialist coordinates and presents specialized recreation programs and activities at an assigned recreation facility. Job Description: Plans, implements, and evaluates specialized recreation programs and activities at assigned recreation facility. Assists in developing goals and objectives for specialized recreation programs. Promotes and publicizes programs for assigned recreation facility. Supervises, coaches and instructs indoor and outdoor team and athletic events. Conducts activity and sports administration and registration functions. Interacts with community groups and members of the public to keep program elements responsive to community need; builds community support and loyalty for specialized recreation programs.
