OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Director, Category Management, the Category Manager is responsible for the management of selected categories in the convenience store retail environment. This will include contributing to setting the strategic direction of the category, vendor management and initiatives required to achieve sales and profit objectives. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Negotiates supply agreements and manages vendor relationships with preferred convenience store suppliers, for assigned categories. - Manages product assortment and product specifications in assigned categories, in order to identify and address opportunities within the business and the market, to maximize sales and margin opportunities. - Develops and communicates business plans that maximize sales, margin dollars and margin percentage, based on current business trends and external market factors. - Identifies items to maximize promotional and marketing strategies to meet sales and margin goals. - Provides field leadership teams and store operators with relevant and timely communication required to maximize sales and margins, through effective merchandising tactics. - Assists in the support, maintenance and updating of the...
