Job description

The North West Regional Organised Crime Unit is a collaborative multi agency covert response to tackle serious and organised crime across the North West Region. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your experience, working within the Northwest region by being involved in the development of intelligence / CHIS management between Police and partners, primarily HMPPS. Opportunity to work in a unique area of covert policing, using human intelligence sources to target SOC criminality within the prison walls and out in the wider community. Working in a small team, you will have the opportunity to work alongside all NW forces, HMPPS and CTPNW in a bid to provide key intelligence to meet individual operational objectives. The clandestine nature of the unit often goes unrecognised but their contribution cannot be underestimated in the value added to investigations and intelligence gathering, often in time critical situations. The NWROCU leads the policing response across the region posed by serious and organised crime in Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and North Wales.
