Schedule Part-Time: 20 Hours/Weekly: General Summary: Responds to EMS calls and performs a variety of functions related to the care and treatment of patients suffering from urgent and emergent disease and/or injury states in accordance with appropriate rules, regulations, and protocols. according to PA DOH EMS Act and scope of practice. Essential Functions: - Responds to EMS calls whether emergency or routine transport, observes safety policies and operates an emergency vehicle with due regard for others. - Provides health care instruction/education to patient and family members. - Prepares patients for scheduled procedures and assists in patient assessment. - Prepares, hangs, monitors, and discontinues I.V. fluids. - Responds to emergency non-emergency calls as an Advanced Life Support Provider when appropriate, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health (PA DOH) EMS protocols.
