Registered Pharmacy Technician - Day Shift - Includes Weekend Hours - Southampton Hospital POSITION SUMMARY: The Registered Pharmacy Technician provides assistance to the Pharmacist regarding all aspects of routine and emergency drug acquisition, disposition, handling, storage, accountability, and administration, provides inventory replenishment to selected Article 28 sites which may include driving medications to these sites, and a ssists in training and supervision of departmental personnel. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists in training of new personnel - Responsible for stock control in all areas of the pharmacy - Driving medications to other Article 28 sites as needed - Restock intravenous solutions in IV Room when needed - Responsible for ordering pharmaceuticals and supplies as needed - Thoroughly checks expiration dates of drugs in all areas of the pharmacy - Shows competency in preparing LVP, PB, and TPN solutions under the supervision of the Pharmacist - Completes departmental / unit inspections in a timely manner - Shows competency in controlled substance procedures (C-2 Safe) - Demonstrates understanding of the institution's pharmaceutical waste program - Performs other related...
