St. Francis de Sales Catholic Parish , located in Abingdon, MD seeks candidates for a Director of Liturgy and Music . The Director of Liturgy and Music is responsible for the overall administration, planning, coordination, and execution of the liturgical and musical life of the parish in collaboration with the pastoral staff and Liturgical Committee, in accordance with the teachings and norms of the Roman Catholic Church. The weekly hours are 25 with benefits. Essential Functions: Liturgical Music Leadership: - Serve as the principal organist/pianist and choral director for all parish liturgies. - Direct and accompany the adult choir, children's choir, pastoral music groups, cantors, and soloists. - Collaborate with the Assistant Music Director regarding the Spanish choir and multicultural liturgical celebrations. - Select and coordinate music for all parish liturgies, including weekly Masses, holy days, weddings, funerals, and sacramental celebrations. - Coordinate and lead rehearsals for all music ensembles and liturgical ministers. - Hire and supervise professional instrumentalists and vocalists as needed. - Willing to engage in the faith life of our parish.
