Description The Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center seeks a highly qualified post-doctoral research fellow with expertise in primary cell culture, imaging, data analysis, and animal in vivo studies. A background in neuroscience and/or cell biology is preferred. Previous experiences in cell culture image analysis for whole-slide imaging are required. Job Function: - Perform in vitro studies; manipulate cells with viral transduction, perform co-cultures of neurons and astrocytes, viability and invasion assays studies in glioma cells, western blots, immunoprecipitation, and confocal imaging. - Perform all necessary steps for cloning and lentivirus production. - Perform all necessary steps for image analysis and immunohistochemistry. - Breed animals, maintain colonies, genotype, perform in vivo viral injections, analyze mouse brains with immunohistochemistry, perform survival analysis. Lab Mission: The mission of the Al-Dalahmah laboratory is to define the states of glial pathology in multiple neurologic diseases including neurodegeneration and glioblastoma.
