Job description

1. Makes rounds regularly as indicated at least once per shift. Maintains high visibility through clinical rounds for all areas. 2. Participates in the assessment of staffing needs. Utilizes staffing guides along with personal observation to maintain appropriate staffing levels to meet patient care needs. Monitors all staffing schedules, notifies Unit Manager or designee of necessary revisions. 3. Maintains clinical proficiency and readily assists units' staffs when indicated. 4. Effectively orients new house managers. Participates in recruitment and retention efforts. 5. Implements and interprets established policies and procedures, standards of performance, productivity, performance improvement, safety, environmental, infection control and other regulatory requirements. Investigates policy violations and initiates corrective action in collaboration with Nurse Manager and/or Director. 6. Utilizes interpersonal and conflict resolution skills to maintain good working relationships with staff, physicians, departments, public agencies, and other organizations.
